Summer in full swing!
The tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants are in the ground, our fabulous summer apprentices Judith and Rowan are back, the days are hot, and the rototiller is getting a workout - summer is officially here! The past few weeks in the garden have been busy, busy, busy. We soon discovered that reclaiming a garden after 15 years of laying fallow means a lot of one thing - WEEDS. Alas! With our bright, sparkly new red rototiller (fondly known as "Hidalgo") we are slowly but surely getting the garden back into shape. But more than anything else, this garden transformation would not be possible without the hard work from the lovely Miss Judith Yang and Rowan Sprague, UVA students and rockstar apprentices for the summer. We will be updating this blog 3 times a week - me (Michelle) on Mondays, Judith on Wednesdays, and Rowan on Fridays - so be sure to check in and see how the garden is growing!
