Gazpacho, gardens, and good company

To all those who joined us this Saturday for our (first annual?) Gazpacho in the Garden, we want to say thank you for making it such a delightful evening! We couldn't have asked for more magnificent weather - sunny with blue skies and a nice breeze - or for a better turnout.

It was a whirlwind getting the garden into gear and preparing all the food and drink - but by the time the clock hit 6pm we were set to go! It was quite the Smorgasbord - everything from gazpacho (LOTS, and lots of it!), to scrumptious bread from Great Harvest and Albemarle Baking Co, delicious heirloom tomatoes, cucumers, and peppers from the Local Food Hub, homemade hummus, chips, salsa, and cookies - all topped it off with some cold lemonade, sweet tea, or cucumber water in a mason jar. Twas a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach!

We are already thinking about the next community event in the garden - everything from corn shucking to pumpkin carving to apple-cider pressing... we will be sure to keep you in the loop!I'll leave you this Monday with a few more photos from Gazpacho in the Garden!
