Lessons Learned
Things have been pretty low-key here at the garden. It seems that during the whirlwind of a weekend, we tidied up the garden and attended to many of the tasks - mulching, finishing the shed - that we had been setting aside.I wanted to take the time to write about something that I have noticed and learned during my time at Morven - things change/grow rather quickly out here. This week we've been paying particular attention to the squash and zucchini rows not only because they attract a great number of bugs, but also because they just keep growing...and growing...and growing...Just this morning, Rowan and I harvested 12 fruits - nine zucchinis, two pattipans and one summer squash. We also harvested a hefty number yesterday and on Monday. Boy, our CSAers are in for a real treat this week.Now if only our eggplants and peppers would do the same...
