It's Raining Bell Peppers and Green Beans Here

I have discovered two important facts about our garden after the approximate nine inches of rain this week: 1) our soil drains well despite all of the clay- the garden is not flooded- and 2) I feel like I can safely say that our shed is structurally sound- it has now survived a hurricane, several earthquakes, and torrential downpours.  Success for the team!  With the rain, our snap peas and lettuces are looking so lush and green.  I think our peas grew overnight because they looked taller Friday morning compared to Thursday morning! For our CSA this week, we picked some of our Swiss Chard.  I just can't get over how beautiful it is.  The leaves are so big and healthy, and the colors of the stalks look almost tropical in their brilliance.  We harvested another big load of bell peppers (about 75 total!), green beans, and okra, and each CSA-er also got a whole cantaloupe.Good news for the Springtime too!  We think we will be able to have a Farm Stand located on Grounds!  We would like to have it about once a week, and anyone can come to our table and purchase some of our raw vegetables.  Everything that we earn would go back to supporting our garden (for compost, seeds, starts, tools, etc.).  I'm so excited that it might work!
